Serena Williams, defying all the rumors, is making a comeback in this year’s Wimbledon championship. Though she had a great semifinals run in the Australian Open, her form plateaued during the clay-court season of 2021. Williams failed to bring home any WTA trophy from the red dirt. And fell prey to an injury in the very first round of the Wimbledon Championships.

Following that, she took a year to recover and make a comeback. Thus raising suspicion about her form, even in the minds of her die-hard fans. One person who has always sided with the 23 times Grand Slam champions but thinks that her chances are bleak this time is Rick Macci.

Rick Macci’s thoughts about Serena Williams’ future

Serena Williams’ former coach Rick Macci has always believed in her potential. However, being a person of experience, he has made a statement that is indeed hurtful but might be true. With Williams yet to play her first match, Macci wrote, “Everybody enjoy Serena one more time as this could be the last time.”

Macci has given tennis five World No.1s out of which one is Serena Williams. The 40-year-old during her teenage, trained alongside sister Venus under the guidance of her father Richard Williams, and Rick Macci. Therefore, his words hold a lot of value when it comes to the Williams duo.
