The Czech-born American vowed to successfully battle this demon and she proved to the world that anything is possible with sheer determination. Now, a decade after her recovery, the tennis legend announced yet another sad news to millions of fans across the globe.

Martina Navratilova announces sad cancer news to the tennis world
In a recent interview, Navratilova announced that she got recently diagnosed with Stage-1 throat cancer.
“This double whammy is serious but still fixable, and I’m hoping for a favorable outcome. It’s going to stink for a while, but I’ll fight with all have I got,” Navratilova revealed.

Going to the story behind her throat cancer diagnosis, it was revealed that there was an enlarged lymph node in Navratilova’s throat during the WTA Finals back in November. After undergoing testing, doctors found that it was Stage-1 Throat and later stage 1 breast cancer. But, the good news is that according to reports, Martina was diagnosed with one of the more treatable cancers.
