Eugenie Bouchard has been one of the top Canadian tennis players over the last decade. She was a player to watch out for after her tremendous success on the junior circuit. Bouchard translated that form early on in her senior career. In 2014, she reached the Wimbledon final before going down tamely against Petra Kvitova in the summit clash.

Once a top-five player, Bouchard has been riddled with inconsistency throughout her tennis career. Over the past year, she is away from the sport owing to a shoulder injury. Recently, she recounted her ‘disaster’ date with a guy on a beach.

Eugenie Bouchard talks about her forgettable date
During an interview, the Canadian tennis star opened up about her date with a guy on a beach. She said, “I went on a date with a guy once, we went to the beach and he had food poisoning and he ran to the bathroom to throw up every 20 minutes.”
Further, she added, “It was just a disaster, it was so bad. We tried to chill out on the beach and have fun, but he would keep disappearing, behind bushes, to the bathroom in the clubhouse, it was bad.”

Last month, Bouchard pulled out of the Wimbledon Championships after ranking points were stripped off from the tournament. The ATP and the WTA announced that ranking points won’t be available at the grass-court Grand Slam tournament this year after Wimbledon banned Russian and Belarusian players.

Bouchard loses her WTA ranking
The former World Number 5 hasn’t played a competitive match since March 2021. Her last appearance was at the Abierto GNP Seguros in Monterrey, Mexico, where she lost in the opening round against Lin Zhu. Subsequently, she suffered a shoulder injury that has kept her out of action since.
