Caroline Wozniacki, the Danish tennis professional, has won 30 WTA singles titles and was the World no.1 for a total of 67 weeks. Further, she also has an Australian Open trophy to her name and was the runner-up in the 2009 and 2014 US Open. However, her career isn’t all about glories. She has faced her fair share of hardships as well. However, Wozniacki always had her father by her side both in good and bad times.

The former World No.1’s father Piotr Wozniacki has been her coach since she was 14. Though, now that the duo has said goodbye to tennis, they spend their time doing stuff watching football and supporting their favorite club, Liverpool.

On Saturday, the Wozniacki duo traveled to Paris to watch the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool. But their intentions of supporting Liverpool were very clear. As Caroline was sporting a Liverpool jersey and Piotr had the club’s scarf around his neck.

However, they failed to cheer Liverpool to victory as real Madrid outdid the team by 1-0 at the Stade de France. The 31-year-old shared her feeling regarding the whole event on Instagram and wrote, “Not the result we had hoped for yesterday. But time spent with my dad is always memorable (smile emoji) until next year…. Go.”

Apart from Wozniacki, the 19-year-old young blood Carlos Alcaraz and 21-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal were also present at the event. They took out some time from their practice session to watch the final. Although they were there to cheer for Real Madrid.

Further, another tennis player not favoring a certain club also attended the finale. Aryna Sabalenka, the Belarussian tennis and former World No.2 took the opportunity of witnessing Madrid and Liverpool in action.

Wozniacki’s last match

After exiting in the third round of the Australian Open 2020, the 2018 Australian Open champion decided to bid farewell to professional tennis. She was supposed to play her farewell game in 2020, but the match was shifted to 2022 on account of the pandemic.

Caroline, in April 2022, played her last match in Royal Arena Copenhagen against her close friend and former World No.1 Angelique Kerber. Although it was a friendly match, Wozniacki didn’t slack off.
