Iga Swiatek has an announcement to make
Just three weeks ago, Iga Swiatek announced that she’s looking for a non-profit organization for donations from the prize money she won at BNP Paribas. Swiatek has taken the initiative to arrange for funds and raise awareness regarding mental health illness. The former French Open winner has announced some optimistic news on the subject. Swiatek has finalized the two non-profit organizations she’ll fund.
She took Instagram to announce this news, and said, ” It’s the first time I commit a bigger amount of money to support a purpose that is relevant to me. World Mental Health Day, my win that day, Daria’s birthday, the fact that exactly one year ago I won a Grand Slam – impacted my decision. 50 k $ is a big amount of money in Polish reality, so, as a team, we decided to support two foundations with my prize money for the 3rd round in @bnpparibasopen (so 25k $ for each).”
