After witnessing Serena Williams’ retirement at the US Open. A lot of fans think about how the elder sister Venus Williams will call off her career when the time comes. However, a former American tennis player, Lindsay Davenport, recently opened up about how she believes that the elder Williams’ sister will get a different farewell and a more elongated tennis career than the younger one.

When the 23-time Grand Slam champion announced her retirement in tennis last year. The possibility of the incredible duo retiring together has been questioned. However, the seven-time Grand Slam champion feels that she still has some tennis left in her.

Davenport talks about Williams’ retirement strategy 

The three-time Grand Slam champion in a recent interview with tennis now talked about how the seven-time Grand Slam champion will follow a more stealth exit strategy for her retirement, and not like the way her sister did. Not only that, she also believes that the 42-year-old American tennis player might not announce her retirement till her final match.

The former American tennis player stated, “It’s hard to know because Venus doesn’t really give up a lot in terms of what her own plans are.” And guessed that the seven-time Grand Slam champion is waiting to play the Grand Slam tournaments again this year while keeping the eye on the  US Open. Added to that, the 42-year-old is a huge part of the tennis world. And might have contributed a lifetime even more than her sister.

Nevertheless, she added, “I think it would probably be different with Venus. I don’t know if we’ll get an announcement. We might just get it post her last match. But she’s remarkable in her ability to compete. I’m not sure we’ve seen anything too close to that in women’s tennis throughout the years.” While we are on the subject of retirement, there was a time when the 42-year-old tennis player considered coaching after doing her last dance.
