It is well known in the realm of tennis that Richard Williams is one of the biggest reasons Venus Williams and Serena Williams attained their level of success. Along with coach Rick Macci, Richard was able to take his daughters to a new height. Remembering the supportive father on this Father’s Day, Macci talked about Richard’s hope for his daughter. He also dropped some advice for fathers aiming to take their daughters to similar triumphs.

King Richard had planned out how he would make his daughters world-famous before they were even born. Taking inspiration from watching tennis on TV, Richard created a 78-page plan which took the Williams sisters to win a combined 173 WTA titles.

Rick Macci, more than anyone, knows the dedication Richard had towards fulfilling his daughters’ potential. While he was helping them become great tennis players, he also aimed to increase their knowledge of the world in general. Their prime focus in their childhood was on the sport, but Richard also focused on studies.

Macci remembered the several ways in which Richard would guide the Williams sisters. For this Father’s Day, he shared one of his processes with his followers, calling it a gold nugget. Macci tweeted that Richard would also get their school books at the coaching grounds and tell them to study whenever it was raining.
