Former world number 37 Alison Van Uytvanck has been a significant and much-talked-about figure in women’s tennis in many ways. As far as her on-court achievements are concerned, one of her most notable victories came against Venus Williams at the 2022 US Open. The Belgian tennis star made her relationship with Emilie Vermeiren public during last year’s French Open. After tying the knot with Vermeiren on Sunday, a delighted Van Uytvanck posted pictures from her wedding ceremony on her Instagram account announcing the news of her marriage. “Finally being able to call you my wife is a wish that came true ❤ it was a perfect day celebrating with our family and friends 🥳 we all love you! Before falling in love with Emilie Vermeiren, Van Uytvanck was involved in a much-talked-about relationship with fellow WTA star and countrywoman Greet Minnen. Van Uytvanck and Minnen became the first openly gay couple to play doubles together at Wimbledon in 2019.
