He pointed out how lucky he felt and how workplaces need to allow new fathers more time to spend with their children.

Serena Williams’ husband talks about paternity leave
As he prepares for another child in the near future, Alexis reminisces about every event that took place prior to and after Olympia’s birth. The entrepreneur was fortunate enough that he was able to take paid leaves for 12 weeks after his daughter was born. Along with all the issues faced by Williams, Alexis was able to be of great help at home.

In a recent tweet, Alexis told his followers how lucky he was to have quite a long time off after the birth of his daughter. However, he also pointed out that his situation was an outlier, and millions of fathers don’t get paternity leave in the US.

He wrote, “When my daughter was born, I was lucky to have 12 weeks of paid leave from my company. My experience is far from the norm, though. The US is the only industrialized country that still doesn’t mandate parental leave—and that’s a tragedy.”

Ohanian takes up impossible task
After Williams had gone through a complicated childbirth, she experienced more issues. The former number 1 had a blood clot in her lungs, which became the basis for more problems. But her husband was around to help her out till she recovered properly. This made him realize the importance of a father and husband being present. Therefore, he took the task of ensuring all corporations in the country gave paternity leave.

He shared this goal with all of his followers on Twitter. Since he was able to focus on his family, he was able to develop stronger bonds with his daughter and his wife. He understands the tragic situation of no paternity leave and has become a proponent for it since then.
