The Pole has done it again. Iga Swiatek won her eighth WTA title by winning the San Diego Open. Now, by winning these titles, she has joined the league of premium tennis players like Serena Williams, Martina Hingis, Kim Clijsters, and Justine Henin who have won eight or over eight titles in a single year.

The Polish player has undoubtedly become the favorite of 2022. Before the WTA Finals, she won eight singles titles. These are Qatar Open, Indian Wells Masters, Miami Open, Stuttgart Open, Italian Open, and San Diego Open, and two major titles at French Open and the US Open.

Martina Hingis did it in 2002. Followed by that, it was Serena Williams in 2002 and 2013. Then it was Kim Clijsters in 2003 and 2005 and finally Justine Henin in 2003 and 2007.
