23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams and her sister, Venus Williams, have become global icons in the world today. They are just not a source of inspiration to millions of youngsters but have also been the face of many big brands. However, the tennis icons owe a large part of their success to their father, Richard Williams.

To recognize the efforts of Richard Williams, HBO came up with a new film, King Richard. Interestingly, Academy Award-winning actor, Will Smith, is playing the role of Richard in the movie. It will hit the theatres on November 19, 2021.

Even though the film will get released on November 19, 2021, its premier was featured a month ago. Thus, some of the fans have already watched the film.

“Absolutely sings. One of the best of the year for me, and THE best Tennis film period. Uplifting, emotional, and with Will Smith shooting for the moon. Saniyya Sidney as Venus is phenomenal! A powerful sporting triumph to be enjoyed over and over,” wrote a fan on Twitter.

It hasn’t been a great season for Serena. The tennis queen began her season on a great note as she managed to reach the semis of the Australian Open 2021. However, eventual champion Naomi Osaka defeated her in straight sets there and ended her campaign down-under.

Even though Serena reached the pre-quarters of the French Open 2021, she was beaten by Elena Rybakina in straight sets there. After which, Williams arrived in London but injured herself at the Wimbledon Championships 2021. Unfortunately, she couldn’t even complete a single set there and hasn’t returned to the court ever since then.
