Coco Gauff faced a shocking exit at the 2024 Qatar Open after losing to Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic in straight sets a week ago. However, she has stated she’s not upset with her performance in Doha. Instead revealed that she looks forward to the next tournament in Dubai. But before starting her campaign at the Dubai Tennis Championships, Gauff sat down with The National to reveal some standout moments in her career so far.

Definitely meeting First Lady Michelle and President Obama was something that definitely would never happen if it wasn’t for tennis. And also I got to speak on the phone with President Biden, so that was really cool. So having these conversations with people so high ranked in the world, and obviously, in more of a tennis way, definitely working with Andy Roddick [on her serve during the offseason] is up there on the list. And playing doubles with Venus Williams, I would say that one, probably, if anything, maybe tops the list,” Coco Gauff.

She further went on to justify her pick saying, “Because I always had the dream of playing them [the Williams sisters] and I never would have in a million years thought I would be able to play with Venus on the same court and the fact that I can even say that is still crazy.”

Coco Gauff has earlier stated her emphatic victory over Venus Williams in the 2019 Wimbledon was the ‘start of everything for me’. She had also expressed her desire to follow in her footsteps.
