She took to her Instagram wearing an all-white outfit of the Wimbledon to express her longing for the major. Wimbledon has banned all the Russian and Belarusian players from playing following the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Victoria Azarenka reminisces about Wimbledon
Azarenka took to her Instagram and uploaded pictures of herself in the all-white tennis outfit. This is the standard at Wimbledon for all players. She uploaded the pictures with three white hearts showing her love for the outfit as well as the grass-court major.

The player has vouched for peace and had shown her remorse for the tensions between Belarus and Ukraine.

What has the ban done to Wimbledon?
All the top-tier players from Russia and Belarus will not be able to be a part of Wimbledon. Wimbledon has officially banned them from being a part of the grass-court major. So, players like Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Aryna Sabalenka will not participate with other players.

This has obviously toned down the competition at the prestigious tournament. Other majors allowed the players to be a part of the tour but on the condition that they play under neutral flags. Consequently. the WTA and ATP have stripped Wimbledon off of its ranking points. This has led to a lot of players backing away from the tour.

Players like Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have also condemned Wimbledon’s move to ban the players. However, they are still in favor of the Ukrainian people and wished for peace to be restored. Ukrainian players like Elina Svitolina have demanded the complete ban of the Russian and Belarusian players from all the tours.

There has been a lot of divergence regarding the issue in the sport that has always promoted harmony between all nations and players.
