The Swedish tennis ace, Mirjam Bjorklund, turned professional in the year 2017. Since then she has claimed 8 singles and 2 ITF doubles titles. Recently she took part in ITF USA 09A and had a decent run till the fourth round. She lost against Taylor Townsend; the left-handed American tennis professional.

Bjorklund is in a relationship with Denis Shapovalov, who is also a tennis professional and plays under the Canadian Flag. Further, she is been dating Denis since 2019 and recently celebrated her 23rd birthday on April 15 with him.

Mirjam Bjorklund shared a clip on Instagram on the occasion of Denis‘ birthday. She is seen singing him happy birthday in Swedish with a slight wiggle. Bjorklund revealed in the caption that Shapovalov himself wanted her to sing in Swedish. She wrote, “He really wanted me to sing for his birthday…in Swedish!”

She jokingly admitted, “The dance wasn’t required.” Although we are not sure how much Shapovalov understood, he for sure looked happy.

Just before the birthday celebration, they went for a little bike ride about which she wrote. “Love our little hobbies.” Thereafter, to finish their day in the best way possible, they took a dip in the sea. With the sunset in the frame, she captioned her story, “Just as beautiful as everything.”

Bjorklund’s Tennis This Year

Mirjam Bjorklund couldn’t make it through the qualifiers of the Australian Open, Qatar Open and Miami Open. Further, she called off her first match at ITF Mexico 04A and stayed out of Indian Wells, the first tournament of the summer double.

However, she had a great run in some of the ITF tournaments this year. Starting with a hustle till the semifinals of ITF Portugal 01A where she lost against Maja Chwalinska, the 20-year-old polish Professional, and the recent run till the round of 16 in ITF USA 09A. Further prior to TIF USA 09A, she made up to the quarterfinals of the Copa Colsanitas WTA 250 clay-based tournament.

The 23-year-old entered the top 200 of WTA this year in February. With her talent and benefit of age, it seems she will enter the top 100 soon.
