Possessing numerous weapons in her armor, Serena has gone on to win 23 Grand Slam titles during her illustrious career.

Amongst the Grand Slam tournaments, the Australian Open and the Wimbledon Championships were the ones where she found tremendous success, winning both of them seven times each. Recently, a video surfaced displaying her amazing shot-making at the Australian Open over the years.

Serena Williams dominates opponents with her down-the-line forehands

In the video, the former World Number 1 can be seen engrossed in long rallies against the likes of Svetlana Kuznetsova, Justine Henin, Maria Sharapova, Eugenie Bouchard, and Simona Halep. However, her powerful down-the-line forehands leave her opponents stunned. Further, Simona Halep’s reaction at the end of the video says it all as she is surprised by Williams’ amazing shot-making.

The Australian Open has been one of Serena’s favorite tournaments. Her last of the 23 Grand Slam titles came at this very tournament. In the 2017 edition, she defeated her elder sister, Venus Williams, to clinch the title.

Serena’s former coach details his final conversation with the American legend

Recently, Patrick Mouratoglou split his coaching partnership with Serena before joining Simona Halep’s team. Detailing his final conversation with Serena, he said, “I wanted to be fair to her and not be disappointed at the end of my career. I went to ask her what she was going to do. It wasn’t very clear to her. I asked her if she wanted to go to Roland Garros. [She] told me [she] didn’t know. It was six weeks before the tour. I told her that I was waiting for her on Monday for training and if she didn’t come I would consider myself free.”

Further, Serena has been out of action since Wimbledon last year owing to her hamstring injury. However, she hopes to make a comeback later this season.
