Yesterday was a thrilling day of action at the Wimbledon Championships 2022. Two of the greatest players of the sport, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams, were in action at Centre Court. While the Spaniard won his opening round match in style, Serena bowed out of the tournament after a heartbreaking loss against France’s Harmony Tan.

It was the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s comeback match at the grass-court Grand Slam tournament. Despite this, she put on a gritty display and won praise from the entire tennis fraternity. Her elder sister, Venus Williams, was in the stands to witness Serena’s battle against Tan. The 7-time Grand Slam champion had a heartening moment with a young fan during the match.

Venus’ heartwarming gesture during Serena Williams’ match

A young fan asked the elder Williams sister for an autograph during Serena’s match against Tan. Venus happily stopped by and signed an autograph on the young fan’s T-shirt. The latter was all smiles after getting an autograph from the American legend. Further, Venus also posed for a photograph with the young fan, making her day.

However, this is not the first time that Venus was seen winning hearts at Wimbledon this year. During one of the practice sessions, Venus stopped by to sign autographs for Novak Djokovic’s children, Stefan Djokovic, and Tara Djokovic. Subsequently, she posed for a picture with the entire family, including Djokovic’s wife Jelena Djokovic.

Venus to play mixed doubles at Wimbledon Championships 2022

The seven-time Grand Slam champion revealed that she’ll be participating in the mixed doubles event at the grass-court Grand Slam tournament. Venus will team up with Andy Murray’s brother, Jamie Murray, at the tournament.
