The American tennis legend, Chris Evert was unquestionably one of the best players on the tennis court. But off the court, Evert struggled with her relationship with her former husband, Greg Norman. The American tennis legend and Australian golf star married in June 2008. It was a lavish wedding on the Bahamas’ Paradise Island.

But, the couple divorced fifteen months later owing to personal issues. Many rumors circulated suggesting that it was the result of two big egos reluctant to compromise. However, the former American tennis player, Evert once came out to disclose the true reason for her divorce from Greg Norman.
Chris Evert once revealed the true reason behind her divorce
The divorce of the popular couple after a short period of marriage was the subject of numerous rumors. While some claimed that Norman was more concerned about his fame rather than being a good husband. Others stated Chrissie couldn’t abide sportsmen who weren’t as good as her receiving more recognition. But it was the American tennis legend, Evert who finally decide to come out to reveal the truth behind her divorce.
Evert once stated, “Was there passion? Yes. Was there love? Sure, uh, yes—but we had two big worlds. Honestly, we had different priorities.”

She stated that their relationship was always passionate and romantic. However, the issue in their relationship came from them having differing priorities. The former tennis player further added that their lifestyles were different. She said Norman prioritized his business and travel interests, while she prioritized taking care of the kids.
Evert stated, “I don’t want this to be a slam on Greg, but our lifestyles were different. My priority was my kids. His priority was to build his business and travel.”

But ever since her divorce from the golf star, the American tennis legend, Evert has been a strong and successful woman.
Evert paid tribute to Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer
The former American tennis player, Evert took to Twitter to pay tribute to the Swiss Maestro, who recently announced his decision to retire from tennis. Evert posted an emotional message for the 20 grand slam title winner, Federer.

She described Federer as a tennis champion with class, grace, and humility who is admired by everyone. Evert went on to say that the Swiss tennis legend gracefully mastered the sport like no other tennis player on the court. Many other tennis legends also paid tribute to Federer. The American tennis legend, Evert’s rival, and friend, Martina Navratilova also posted a message to pay tribute to the 20 grand slam title winner.
