Maria Sharapova is in the mood for some Broadway fun! After having an intense holiday trip in Abu Dhabi, this former world’s number one tennis player is trying her taste in musicals. While for Sharapova fans, this update is surprising, they might remember her break from motherhood to attend an Elton John concert. Now almost two years after that night, Sharapova not only revisits her cultural favorites but drops a hilarious comment revealing her inner child.

The world’s former number-one took to her official Instagram story to give her fans snippets from her recent attendance at a Broadway show. In Sharapova’s story, fans noticed the former WTA star walking towards the theatre and then revealing her interaction with Cabaret star Eddie Redmayne from the backstage.

Another photo showed her posing with Redmayne and another artist from the show, which although has received mixed reviews from critics, seemed to be a hit for Sharapova. Taking place at the Kit Kat Club of August Wilson Theatre, Cabaret is hosted by a theater modified into a Broadway stage to a high-style atmosphere for the audience.

Sharapova expressed her intense excitement in her second Instagram story. Here she shared a clip of Eddie Redmayne talking about something., However, she omitted the original sound by adding a soundtrack from the show and added a hilarious caption– “Such an incredible performance. I wanted to get my hands on the clown costume when Eddie wasn’t looking.”

Cabaret on Broadway is a revival of the original from the West End production, which also saw Eddie Redmayne as the shape-changing Emcee character. Up for a Tony Award, the British actor’s performance has been lauded by pundits, although the show overall has found some negative comments. Nevertheless, it promised to be a wonderful evening for Maria Sharapova!

The cheerful glee on her face expressed her happiness in attending this fun musical, although her love for Broadway came as a surprise to fans. As far as musical preferences are concerned, the former tennis star is a huge Elton John fan.

Despite retiring from tennis, Sharapova has found that motherhood keeps her busy. However, she still brings motivation for young mothers to take care of themselves amid all the work. Sharapova with her fiance Alexander Gilkes attended famous singer Elton John’s final North America concert by taking a break from her motherly responsibilities.

Attending that exclusive show at Los Angeles’s Dodger Stadium, Sharapova wrote- “A wild parents’ night out,” While praising Elton John’s music, Sharapova also complimented her debut experience with the famous Dodger Dog at the baseball stadium. Sharapova said-“Elton was great (!!) but I had my first Dodger Dog and it was great too.”
