

Richard Williams had plans for his daughters- Venus and Serena Williams, just like any other normal father. Both his daughters have created their own standard in the tennis world and also made their father proud. There was also a time when Richard simply thought that he would be putting them into tennis just to mint money.

With their father’s help, eldest sister Venus has won seven Grand Slam titles while Serena has won 23 Grand Slams throughout her glorious career.
Venus and Serena Williams’ father Richard talked about how he preferred money over tennis
Williams had always envisioned her daughters as legendary tennis players. But at one point, he had a realization regarding his attitude toward sports when his eldest daughter started her professional career. Just like any other father, he also cared more about money rather than letting his daughters enjoy the sport.

In a throwback interview, the tennis giant’s father opened up about the time when he realized that he was wrong and started understanding the real agenda behind making her daughters renowned tennis stars.
He said that like any average parent, he thought about money when he started the tennis journey with his daughters.
”I started like most parents. I wanted to make a million dollars. I started for the wrong reason. That’s why I don’t feel good about it.” However, Richard was heavily criticized for being a dominant father despite playing a crucial part in her career.

Venus Williams believes she is the no.1 aunt to her niece, Olympia
The Williams sisters, with their families, had a fantastic time recently together. Both the tennis giants were seen attending their niece’s wedding in Mexico.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion was slightly more thrilled, though, because she got to spend time with Olympia Ohanian, her five-year-old niece. Olympia is the heartbeat of the family and also traveled for the holidays with Serena.

The American tennis veteran captioned a photo of herself and her niece with the caption, “no.1 aunt” on her Instagram accounts. Notably, the amazing tennis duo shares a great bond both as sisters and as doubles partners.
