German coach Sascha Bajin is all ready to begin his new journey with the former World No.1 Karolina Pliskova. The Czech player recently hired Bajin as her coach after a disappointing 2020 season. Before this, Bajin was working with Ukrainian player Dayana Yastremska. However, he parted ways with her, reportedly due to an incident involving Naomi Osaka.
After a match between Osaka and Yastremska, Bajin tweeted that Osaka was the better player. This created a sort of rift between Bajin and Yastremska. However, in a recent interview, Bajin replied negatively when asked whether the tweet was responsible for their separation or not.

“No, I just don’t want to believe that. I do not want to say much about this matter now either, because it is not worth mentioning for me. But that was not the reason for the separation. As I said, it was more due to the different approaches,” said an anxious Bajin.
He clearly didn’t want to talk much about the issue. However, the 36-year-old coach revealed that the two parted ways due to different approaches.
“Was a bit annoyed because I congratulated Naomi Osaka”- Sascha Bajin on Dayana Yastremska
Bajin further added that he always used to praise whatever he found good. He believed that it was his nature to congratulate the opponent as well.

“Maybe Dayana was a bit annoyed because I congratulated Naomi Osaka of all people. But I always do that. I congratulate the other team, but maybe it bothered them a little more,” concluded the coach.
One also has to look into history in order to understand the complicated matter. Before coaching Yastremska, Bajin was a part of Osaka’s coaching team. Keeping this in mind, one could imagine what Yastremska would have felt after seeing his coach praising his former associate.

With all of this done, it’s time for the upcoming season, which will be beginning with the Australian Open 2021. Naomi Osaka will be returning back to the court after her injury. On the other hand, Bajin will be there beside Pliskova, training her hard to make her regain the momentum in 2021.
