Aryna Sabalenka has come into her own as a tennis player, winning her second grand slam in Australia. The Belarusian beauty went against China’s Qinwen Zheng in the final to lift the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup for the second time. Sabalenka, however, reached this pinnacle after struggling with some technical abilities, and her performance coach recently came out to talk about her past weaknesses.

One of the biggest problems in Sabalenka’s game in the past was her service. She would have many double faults and would struggle to have dominant serves. While the issue is improving, her coach dives in on her current condition.

Anyone who has watched Aryna Sabalenka play knows that she is a player who does not relent easily. She fights tooth and nail for each point no matter the difficulty of the opponent. Evidently, this fire is proving well for her. Jason Stacey, her performance coach, has helped the Belarusian surpass her shortcomings to win slams. Appearing on the Wide World of Sports, he spoke about her past issues.

Stacey said, “She was always very strong, but it was like a bunch of pieces not really put together very well. She always had this fire inside of her this fight but didn’t really have good control over it. So just hoping that all that really becomes more and more connected.” Stacey has helped Sabalenka through many issues and continues to be by her side.

The two share a close bond which could be seen after Sabalenka’s second Australian Open title. The Belarusian player rushed to Stacey and the two made the stadium laugh with their antics.

Following her victory, Aryna Sabalenka walked to the stands and gently patted her coach, Jason Stacy’s bald head. The tennis star’s funny celebration with a crew member not only made the spectators giggle but also hinted at good chemistry with her team.

Fans were, nevertheless, taken aback as the tennis player walked through the court in jubilation, enjoying her strut. Sabalenka would go on to follow her moves with a comedic speech. The world number two was in the mood for celebration, and she did so by dancing with an interviewer.
