Five-time Grand Slam winner Maria Sharapova retired at the Australian Open 2020. It was definitely a heartbreaking moment for fans, as they didn’t anticipate such a move to take place that quickly. However, what’s beautiful is that Sharapova still loves her fans and often talks to them on social media.
Recently, she took up a Q&A session on Instagram in which she tried to answer different questions from her fans. Interestingly, there were some questions that took her breath away while some took her back to certain good old times.
In the session, there was a question about the best vacation she’s ever had. The question puzzled the former player and even took some time to answer it. However, she soon replied confidently and said, “Really tough question. In 2019, we saw these gorillas in Rwanda. And it was pure magic.”
It wasn’t too long ago that Sharapova went on a trip to Africa to unravel the mysteries of nature. She even posted a lot of pictures from her trip that were a delight to look at.
She posted pictures of a jungle safari where she even got to watch a sleeping lion in Botswana, Africa.
Maria also put up a number of enthralling pictures and videos from her favorite part of the vacation – the gorillas. These were taken at the Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda, and one can see Sharapova posing just inches away from a big gorilla.
Maria was also lucky enough to see a leopard in the jungle safari in the same grasslands of Botswana.
It was definitely a memorable trip for her, and that must have made picking her favorite moments all the harder. Who knows, maybe fans might get to see Sharapova go on another mesmerizing trip once the pandemic gets over!
