“Goal Was To Have Some Good Matches”- Angelique Kerber Getting a Big Boost Ahead Of The Wimbledon Championships 2021

The Bad Homburg Open has come to a conclusion in Germany, and the finalists will be content with their result. Angelique Kerber, World No.28 in the WTA rankings, clinched the women’s singles final against Katerina Siniakova. The German is confident on grass courts and this result bodes well for her to finally reignite her fortunes at Majors with the upcoming Wimbledon Championships, beginning from Monday.
After a series of bad runs in the last few tournaments, Kerber will be happy with her result in Bad Homburg. She’d lost to Victoria Azarenka in the second round, at the Grass Courts Championships in Berlin. A win in her home country after that defeat will motivate her ahead of the grand event this summer.

This the first title of the year for Angelique Kerber, in 2021. After a quarterfinal finish at the Grampians Trophy in Melbourne, she went through a series of bad defeats. This was a 13th career title for the German, including a few Grand Slam titles under her belt as well.
This is also a third grass court title for Kerber, having previously won the 2018 Wimbledon Championships and the WTA Birmingham Open in 2015.

The Wimbledon Championships will be an extremely important tournament for the former World No1.
