Post her 2021 US Open win, Emma Raducanu has become a looked-upon name, on-court, as well as off-court. Recently, 19-year old Emma appeared in a video of fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar. In the video, the 2021 US Open champion opened up on what advice she would give to her younger self, given the accomplishments she has achieved at such a young age.

The last 12 months have been a roller coaster ride for Emma. Not only professionally but also personally. In 2021, she wrote her name in the history books by becoming the first qualifier to win a grand slam. After winning the slam she became an overnight star, instantly getting signed by top brands like Dior, Tiffany & Co., British Airways, and Evian among others. On the other hand, she has also graduated from her school.

Raducanu’s advice to her younger self

Raducanu recently appeared in a Harper Bazar‘s video titled ‘Emma Raducanu: What you don’t know about me’; In the video, Emma answered a number of questions like What makes you angry, What food reminds you of home, the Best piece of advice given by parents, etc. However, amongst these questions, one question that needed a special mention was, ‘Advice you would give to your younger self.’

Replying to the question, the always energetic Radacanu answered, “To enjoy the moment more.” “To enjoy the moment more,” Elaborating on her answer, she said, “A lot of the time I was always thinking ahead, of what I could be doing or [wondering] if I was missing out on things. I wasn’t so present. But some of those times where I was looking ahead are actually some of the best memories.”

Among other questions, Emma also spoke about her partnerships with brands. Emphasizing the fact that she likes to have authentic partnerships with brands that she is either interested in or thinks will have a good influence on her game.

Emma Raducanu in 2022

After experiencing a sudden downfall in her performance post her 2021 US Open, Emma Raducanu entered the 2022 season with the hope of a remarkable start. She started her new season at the WTA 500 Sydney Tennis Classic. However. However, Emma faced a first-round exit from the tournament.

Hoping to get a better result on the bigger level, Raducanu entered the Australian Open as the 17th seed. Although she managed to win the first round in three sets, her run came to halt in the second round as she could not get past Danka Kovinic. Not losing hope, the British youngster entered the WTA 250 Guadalajara Open as the top seed. In the opening round, she faced Australian Daria Saville. After having a marathon in the first two sets, Emma was forced to retire in the final set after suffering a hip injury.
