Legendary American tennis star Serena Williams, has always taken an active part in activities outside the tennis court. Being a fierce competitor on-court, the former world no.1 also radiates passion when it comes to off-court events. Serena is an entrepreneur and also has immense amount of interest in the fashion friend. 

In the past, Serena collaborated with famous fashion designer and a great friend, Virgil Abloh. The American designer designed many outfits for the tennis player. Unfortunately, Abloh passed away in November last year. Recently, in Paris, Serena paid tribute to Abloh as she shared some behind-the-scenes footage of his last Off-White fashion show.

Serena Williams talks about being part of Virgil’s last Off-White show

Founder of the Off-White brand, Virgil Abloh’s sudden passing shocked the entire world including the American tennis icon. Serena was a part of the company’s fashion week show in Paris. 

On Instagram, Serena posted some moments from the event and talked about her wonderful experience. “So, this is a special moment for me, and I’m just so, honestly, I’m just happy to be a part of it. I love Off-White, and I feel really excited about, being in the show is really cool, like Naomi (Campbell) is here and I can’t wait to say who else is here.”

Earlier, Serena posted a heart-felt message to Virgil.

“I had an unbelievable time walking in the @off____white show. Virgil meant so much to me, and to walk in a collection that he was still a part of was something I could not miss. Thank you for the opportunity. I am so grateful to show love to my friend.”

 

Serena’s famous Off-white dress at the French Open

Virgil and Serena both collaborated in 2018 at the US Open as Serena wore one of the most unique-looking tennis outfits. Later in 2019, the 23-time Grand Slam champion wore an original Virgil Off-White tennis outfit for the French Open. That Outfit garnered huge praise and fans called it one of the most classy-looking outfits worn by the American.

It’s definitely an emotional moment for Serena Williams as she pays a gentle tribute to the legendary fashion designer.
