The last time fans saw Caroline Wozniacki on the courts was way back in 2020, before the pandemic struck. The 2020 Australian series was her farewell tour, and she played at the Aukland Open and then the Australian Open. In the former, she reached the semifinal, eventually losing to eventual champion Jessica Pegula and in the latter, she lost in the third round to Ons Jabeur. She then announced her retirement from professional tennis at 29 years of age.
