After winning the first round just four days after her ex-boyfriend’s sudden demise, things went a little out of hand in the second round of the Miami Open. Although she faced a disappointing loss, the two-time Grand Slam champion was seen venting out her frustration on the court.

Trying to cope with the tough situation, Sabalenka was giving her 100% after losing her former boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov, at the age of 42 in Miami, which was apparently described as a suicide. Just before starting off her Miami Open campaign, the 25-year-old tennis star faced a huge personal setback but kept on going. After winning the first round against her best friend, Paula Badosa, there was a lot of hope for her in terms of her chances of winning the tournament.

But during the second round, she faced defeat against Anhelina Kalinina. After the loss, she completely lost her cool, in such a way that she broke her tennis racket on the court, leaving everyone shocked with the way she handled the Miami Open disaster and with all the things that are going on with her.

Moreover, she repeatedly hits her racket on the court to express her disappointment with the result, emphasizing how strongly she feels at that very time. Following her rage, the world number 2 left the court without shaking hands with her Ukrainian opponent and instead broke her racket. Not only that, the 25-year-old tennis star broke silence on her ex-boyfriend’s death and revealed how they were no longer together as a couple.

As soon as the news of the 42-year-old NHL player came out, just a few moments later, the 2023 Australian Open champion took to her Instagram account to share a message regarding the same. She wrote, “Konstantin’s death is an unthinkable tragedy, and while we were no longer together, my heart is broken. Please respect my privacy and his family’s privacy during this difficult time.” 

Even after receiving such heartbreaking news, the 25-year-old tennis star intended to compete in the tournament, despite Koltsov’s death. Not only did she share her feelings, but she also highlighted how both of them separated before he passed away.
