After winning the first round just four days after her ex-boyfriend’s sudden demise, things went a little out of hand in the second round of the Miami Open. Although she faced a disappointing loss, the two-time Grand Slam champion was seen venting out her frustration on the court.
Trying to cope with the tough situation, Sabalenka was giving her 100% after losing her former boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov, at the age of 42 in Miami, which was apparently described as a suicide. Sabalenka heartbroken over her ex-boyfriend’s demise
As soon as the news of the 42-year-old NHL player came out, just a few moments later, the 2023 Australian Open champion took to her Instagram account to share a message regarding the same. She wrote, “Konstantin’s death is an unthinkable tragedy, and while we were no longer together, my heart is broken. Please respect my privacy and his family’s privacy during this difficult time.”
Even after receiving such heartbreaking news, the 25-year-old tennis star intended to compete in the tournament, despite Koltsov’s death. Not only did she share her feelings, but she also highlighted how both of them separated before he passed away.
