WATCH: Naomi Osaka Exchanges Heart-Warming Banter With Iga Swiatek as She Loses Miami Open 2022 Final

Sunshine double ends with Iga Swiatek taking home both the championship titles. Naomi Osaka lost at the Miami Open finals in straight sets and she congratulated the Polish star for putting up a dominating performance in the final. Her acceptance speech was very cheerful despite her tough.

Swiatek was playing her 1st Miami open final but a one-sided affair proved to be an easier one for her. She lost just four games throughout the match.

Naomi Osaka showed Great Spirit in accepting the loss

Considering that it was the final of an WTA 1000 tournament, Osaka couldn’t bring her A-game to the match against Swiatek. Iga Swiatek lost her previous meeting against Naomi Osaka in the 2019 Canadian Open. However, Swiatek looks to be in full swing as she defeated some of the promising players right from the start of the season.

Speaking at the trophy ceremony, Naomi showed great character and appeared to be in a joyous mood despite the heavy defeat.

Naomi said in her acceptance speech, “I want to congratulate Iga, Hiee….” The first line won the spectators’ hearts. The tone and innocent expressions from Naomi confirmed her cheerful stance.

She further talked about her memory of the 2022 Australian Open with Iga Swiatek and how the Pole had grown to become a great player.

WTA is now stacked up with many quality players. The ranking has become just a number on the women’s side as  any player in the Top 20 has the capability of challenging for the title on a given surface. With so much difficulty in predicting winners, Iga Swiatek and Naomi Osaka have proved themselves as players with a slight edge over the others.

Four-time Grand Slam Winner Osaka was not a possible finalist for the Miami Open for many tennis analysts. But, the Japanese International proved them wrong and defeated some tough opponents like Angelique Kerber and Belinda Bencic to reach the championship match.

On the other hand, 2020 French Open Winner Iga Swiatek entered as a huge favorite to clinch the Miami Open after consecutive titles in Qatar Open and Indian Wells. Looking at the form and age of both the players, they are all set to face each other numerous times in the nearby future.
