The Australian Open 2021 is just two weeks away and players are training quite hard for it. While some are sweating day in and out, others have transformed their hotels into training grounds. Many are now going out and spending about five hours practicing their shots. Recently, World No. 2 Simona Halep was seen practicing really hard before the upcoming Grand Slam.
In a recent video, one can see Halep sweating and practicing her game. She first tried some forehands and then went for the backhands. What was even more brilliant was that she was timing each of her shots pretty well and seemed to be in great touch.
This is probably the first glimpse of the 2-time Grand Slam champion at the Australian Open 2021. It will also send a stern warning to her opponents. Halep is certainly looking confident with her shots and will surely aim for the title this time.

With her current form, Halep will definitely be starting as one of the favorites at the Grand Slam. However, she needs to work on her backhand in order to improve her game ahead of the major.
At the last Australian Open, the Romanian player managed to reach the semis but lost to Garbine Muguruza there. Despite this, she had a pretty remarkable season in 2020 and finished in the second position in the WTA rankings at the end of the year.
However, in order to succeed in Melbourne this year, Halep really needs to work on her serve and backhand. She undoubtedly has a great forehand and has the capability to cover the ground quickly, but somehow drops points while playing her backhand shots.
The World No. 2 Halep will surely be a player to watch out for at the Australian Open 2021. Fans definitely have high expectations from her and will love to see her lifting her third Grand Slam title in Melbourne this year.
