Recently, the fashion industry tragically lost an iconic designer, Virgil Abloh. He was the founder of the brand ‘Off-White’ and the artistic director of Louis Vuitton menswear collection. Serena Williams, Venus Williams, and many others from the tennis world paid tribute to the designer. Louis Vuitton paid homage to Virgil Abloh by presenting his final show, the men’s spring collection 2022, in Miami.

Notably, the seven-time Grand Slam winner, Venus Williams, also attended the event. While attending the show, she made a special video to express her feelings about her friend Abloh. Venus was emotional as she talked about the icon.

Venus Williams gets emotional while talking about Virgil Abloh

Venus took to Instagram to share her feelings, in a special edition of her Wellness with Venus series. She looked extremely emotional while recording the video. “Live from the @louisvuitton Men’s SS Spring show. Watch as we celebrate my favorite designer, @virgilabloh, and talk appreciation for health and wellness,” she wrote on her Instagram as she shared the video.

“I am at the last show for Virgil Abloh,” she started off the video by saying.

During the entire video, the American appreciated the amazing work of Virgil Abloh. “I love him,” said Venus Williams as she got sentimental talking about him.

Serena Williams also penned down a touching message

The 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams, was also close to the designer, Virgil Abloh. Abloh specially designed her outfits for Williams at US Open 2018 and French Open 2019. His work was much appreciated by the former World No. 1. Serena Williams, who also wrote down an emotional message after the passing of Abloh.

She took to Instagram and wrote, “Words cannot express the sorrow I feel on the passing of my friend @virgilabloh. I will forever be grateful to have had the opportunity to witness such greatness, such genius and to feel the warmth of his smile. It was my honor to stand next to him. I will miss you.”

Both Venus and Serena Williams were shaken after hearing about the sudden loss of one of the greatest fashion designers. We send our deepest condolences to Virgil Abloh’s family and friends.
