Serena Williams will be returning to the court at the Italian open 2021. The tennis queen missed the Mutua Madrid Open and the Miami Open 2021 due to an oral problem but has recovered now. She practiced on clay at the Mouratoglou Academy in Nice and will now head to Rome for the tournament.
Serena Williams has had a beautiful journey at the Italian Open. She has won the Masters 1000 tournament four times in her career so far and has enjoyed some great moments there. However, if fans have to find the best moment, it was surely her victory speech after winning the Italian Open 2016 title.

The American legend shocked everyone when she started speaking in Italian after winning the title. The fans cheered and motivated her and it was surely one of the unforgettable moments for them. Even though Serena became a little emotional, she didn’t lose her fluency while speaking the language.
Interestingly, Serena is not only a legendary tennis player but also a good academician. Apart from speaking English, she can speak French, Italian, and even Spanish.

Serena Williams had a phenomenal run at the Italian Open 2016. She played five matches there and didn’t drop a single set in the whole tournament.

The first three rounds were pretty easy for the 23-time Grand Slam champion. She easily defeated Anna-Lena Friedsam, Christina McHale, and Svetlana Kuznetsova in the first, second, and third-round respectively. She even managed to bagel Kuznetsova in the second set.

The tennis queen dominated the semis as well and thrashed Irina-Camelia Begu in straight sets. In the finals against her fellow counterpart, Madison Keys, she faced a little difficulty. However, she managed to win the first set after a close tie-breaker and emerged as the winner of the tournament in the second set.
