‘We Got a Baby Girl’- 6 Years After Wife’s Potentially Fatal Pregnancy, Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian Harks Back to Emotional Past to Re-Live Memories Ahead of ’Jellybean’s Arrival

As Serena Williams enters her third trimester of pregnancy, plenty of restrictions have been imposed on her. For instance, the former World No.1 had to give up on spicy food recently. Her outings have seen a significant reduction as well. Williams and Ohanian are likely to take extra precautions this time around after facing severe complications during the first daughter Olympia’s birth.

Williams was out of breath the day after giving birth to her baby. She knew she was dealing with a life-threatening pulmonary embolism since she had previously suffered blood clots. Eventually, Williams made it through, but the memories of the complications are pretty fresh. Ohanian recently posted a short video from the time of Olympia’s birth and these memories resurfaced again.

Complications and relief for Serena Williams

Complications would be an understatement to describe what the couple had to go through during Olympia’s birth. The 23-time major champion was close to losing her life because of the blood clots. The reluctant medical staff also worsened the situation, but Williams survived and Olympia was alright. They had to spend some extra time in the hospital, but to their relief, they left in good health.

In the recently uploaded clip by Alexis Ohanian, he took us back to the nightmarish week. Towards the end of the video, Williams’ words were enough to reveal the ups and downs the couple faced during the dark days. Williams said, “So, we are leaving the hospital after 6 or 7 days. It’s been a long time, but we had a lot of complications. But look who we got, we got a baby girl. Junior(adores Olympia).”

However, this time, the couple looks much more prepared. They have been regularly sharing updates and recently they even did a gender reveal party.

Williams and Ohanian did a gender reveal party for Jellybean

The couple held a grand gender reveal party recently for the unborn child, who they refer to as ‘Jellybean‘. The build up was done on their social media accounts and the party was streamed on YouTube. Fans tuned in to watch their favorite couple making the big announcement. Serena herself was not aware of the child’s gender and got all emotional when she realized that she would be blessed with a second daughter in the upcoming months.
