Iga Swiatek, in a series of events, claimed that she is not feeling 100% fit and claimed to be tired just ahead of the start of the upcoming US Open. However, reacting to this, Navratilova said that she should either suck it up or should skip the whole tournament.

However, the fans did not welcome her comments as she seemed to face backlash.

One user tweeted, “Martina is an obnoxious and unpleasant person,” citing the fact that Martina shouldn’t have said those words to her.

Another user took to Twitter to say that Swiatek is also a human and, just like any other person, she can also have such moments of tiredness and fatigue.

Another user also highlighted the same fact and said that she has played more than 50 games this season and it is okay for her to be tired and exhausted. “Iga played the most matches of all this season. Over 50. She has a right to be tired. It’s only human. When other players are tired it’s okay, only Iga can’t be tired, People are terrible,” mentioned the fan.

This user highlighted its dissatisfaction over the issue by issuing a cheeky comment. The comment read, “Martina Navratilova is so kind to the future of the sport. What a way to inspire young talent. A bit put off.” However, it had different meanings.

This user expressed his concern, saying that with some of the top players like Ashleigh Barty and Naomi Osaka out of the tour for a while, it is Swiatek who’ll be carrying the legacy forward.

Thus, it is essential for the fans and everyone to respect the upcoming faces and make sure that they shine bright.

This user expressed her views by saying that everyone knows that Navratilova is not a fan of Iga Swiatek. So, she should not say much about her and just move on. “Martina -We know you don’t like Iga. Stop being unpleasant and move on!!!!”

However, out of everything, one fan came out and said that the comments made by Martina Navratilova are just fine and there’s nothing bad about it. “Agree Martina! well said,” said the fan supporting Navratilova’s comments.

Last, but not least, this user went all in on Martina Navratilova and expressed his frustration on the former grand slam winner. He went ahead to say that she is a bully and does not want talent to grow, citing the statements once said by the great Margaret Court.

Thus, Navratilova’s comments on the matter received great backlash from the fans. What started as a motivational way of dealing with things turned its back on the former champion. With the US Open on the horizon now, it will be exciting to see if Swiatek pulls out or goes all in and claims glory to her name.
