Venus Williams is probably one of the most famous tennis players on the WTA tour. Along with her sister Serena, she revolutionized the way tennis was played at that time, in the women’s circuit. Last year, they were involved in the production of the movie King Richard, which is a biopic of their father Richard Williams.

In the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony held on Monday, Venus walked the red carpet in a Dolce and Gabbana dress looking stunning and as always as she was accompanied by her sister Isha Price.

Venus and Serena looked into the script before confirming their association with the project

Venus Williams also spoke about how her father was a special person and quite impactful when it comes to the sport as well. “It’s the most special thing. And my dad is a special guy, he changed a sport, you know, single handedly, and it feels very special,” she said.

They have also spoken multiple times about how they were very particular about the script being true to their lives, stories, and experiences. Venus and her sister said they put their names on the movie officially after they were sure that it would not misrepresent the person that was their father.

Richard William was the person who is primarily responsible for Venus and Serena’s meteoric rise in the world of tennis. So it is natural that the sisters wanted to confirm how their story had been portrayed before officially becoming a part of the franchise.

“We want it to be authentic. You know, we you hear a lot you know about Hollywood and how they twist and turn things. And yeah, our dad was a complicated person and but he loved us and at the core… that’s what we wanted to get out there. And additionally, that family, if you stick together, it really does work at the foundation. We’re sisters. We still do things together. We still have fun together. And it was really important that, that not get lost for us,” Venus’s sister added.

Venus Williams rocked the red carpet in Dolce and Gabbana

Both Venus and Serena Williams have had quite a big stake in the fashion industry, with both of them running their own clothing lines. At the award ceremony, Venus turned heads in a white dress with a high slit. When asked by the interviewer about what she was wearing, she elaborated on the dress as well as her jewelry whilst giving a shout-out to her stylist.

“I am working with Dolce Gabbana in Gismondi jewels. You know, Law dressed me so he’s amazing. Yes, yes. Yeah, I love him,” she said. When asked about how she finalized her look, she said that it is a matter of looking at the look and getting the giggles for her.
