Posting a story on her official Instagram handle and tagging Wozniacki, Serena said, “Alright, we are still out and about Caroline, where am I now?” Replying to this, Wozniacki said, “Hmmm!! On a lake, wearing your denim jacket in the evening… Switzerland?”

Serena and Wozniacki’s bond began to grow in 2011 when the latter visited Serena’s home while she was recovering from her foot surgery. Serena was at the lowest point of her career at that time, recovering from a life-threatening pulmonary embolism. Further, Williams was spotted spending time with Wozniacki when the latter went through an embarrassing public breakup with then-fiancee Rory McIlroy. Subsequently, they went on to become one of the best friendship pairs on the women’s tennis circuit.

Serena’s disappointing comeback

Last month, the former World Number 1 returned to tennis. She played her first singles match after a year owing to a hamstring injury. However, her return didn’t go according to plans, making a first-round exit at Wimbledon Championships 2022. She went down, fighting against Harmony Tan in a three-set thriller.
