Taylor Townsend is always busy dealing with challenges. Be it going for her practice at the Indian Wells while her “eyes feel like they are getting stretched out.” due to speedy winds. Or her tough time dealing with a 4-year-old son, Adyn, whose childish, playful antics keep making her “life difficult.” But guess what? It seems there’s something even more worse than this ‘normal routine’. The 2025 Australian Open doubles champion, who keeps updating her life moments on social media, just shared how she’s spending her weekend this time. Well, how about having a doping test?
Many tennis lovers must be aware of this practice already. Players get randomly tested for doping, without being informed. They just need to go to a spot, be present there, and get tested. Sometimes it may feel annoying, especially on weekends. You’ve got plans and then suddenly you are called for a test. Weird, right? But guess what? Rules are rules and you have to follow them. It appears to be the exact case in Townsend’s situation too.
She took to her IG on Saturday and shared a very brief clip. Guess what she was doing? Getting tested for doping! Clearly, she wasn’t really happy about the experience and it became evident from her reaction. “My sat morning 🤦🏾♀️😤🙃,” she wrote. But this might not be as much worrisome as her update from several weeks ago ago. It painted a concerning picture over her well-being. Why?

Remember the video Townsend shared last month? In an IG story, she revealed she’s battling what appeared to be a major reaction to Atlanta’s spring pollen. It’s a health scare that made the tennis mom scared. “This is me reaching out, somebody please come and take care of me because I am totally convinced that Atlanta is trying to F*****g kill me with like ridiculous level of pollen that just don’t exist anywhere else on this world. So this is just a cry for help, I am struggling,” she said.
For the uninitiated, Ozone pollution remains a major issue in Atlanta. The city is ranked 67th in the US for having a poor Ozone levels, according to American Lung Association’s 2024 ‘State of the Air’ report. While lately the air has become slightly better, the challenge still remains for having a better, cleaner air.
Despite the problem, Townsend is willing to stay in Atlanta. Thanks to her old bond with the city that won’t fade away anytime soon.

Taylor Townsend caught in a weird Atlanta chaos amid unexpected flight debacle
In tennis, it’s not the just on-court journey but also the off-court moments that matter. Look no further than Taylor Townsend who constantly tries to strike balance between professional life and personal life as a mother. On one hand, she has to focus on her career and commitments. And then she also tries to spend time with her 4-year-old son. It’s a challenge, undoubtedly, which involves relentless traveling. Seems like it’s started taking a toll on her.
Back in March, her doubles campaign in Indian Wells ended in the semis, with partner Katerina Siniakova. They lost against the pair of Demi Schuurs and Asia Muhammad. But Taylor’s travel troubles didn’t cease to exist. On her way out of Atlanta, she found herself in the most unexpected situation. What was the issue? “The most Atlanta thing I’ve heard all year: ‘Sorry for the delay, folks… we’re just waiting on a pilot to come fly the plane!’”, she revealed.
Well flight delays for tennis pros isn’t something uncommon. It’s like a routine while traveling between events from one venue to the other. Last year, too, during the Atlanta Open, there occurred a similar situation. Townsend played an exhibition match against compatriot and 2017 US Open winner Sloane Stephens. Townsend eventually won and shared a heartfelt moment with Stephens at the net. But guess what? Sloane then revealed her own struggles in Atlanta. Turned out she had a 7-hour flight delay. Later, she took a sigh of relief in an IG story and revealed, “Finally, on my way home”
