Martina Navratilova details her celebration plans with Evert
Recently, the 59-time Grand Slam champion, in an interview with Piers Morgan, revealed the best news to her fans, who were constantly worried about the former tennis player. Navratilova revealed that she is cancer free now, and is all set to make a comeback to normal life. While learning about the positive news, the host asked the former tennis player how she was going to celebrate the moment with her good friend Chris Evert.
She said, “Right now, alcohol, it tastes terrible. I haven’t had alcohol for 2 months during the treatment. I quit, I didn’t want to. But then taste buds change, and I tasted little tequila the other day—oh my god. Wine is horrible, it’s like the worst vinegar you can imagine. It will come back; it’s coming back slowly. I have never been drunk in my life. But I may get drunk this time around. This will be a good time to celebrate. We might do something. Pot is legal here in Florida. And maybe we’ll just smoke a joint in honor of Bob Marley.”

This time, the former tennis legend is not settling for anything less, even with her celebrations. She might not go for alcohol this time, but smoking in honor of renowned late musician Bob Marley is definitely on her mind. However, there was a time when her on-court archrival talked about the side effects of smoking marijuana.
Evert once detailed the side effects of smoking marijuana
Back in 1992, in an interview with Sports Illustrated, the 18-time Grand Slam champion opened up about the worst repercussions of smoking marijuana. She revealed that the only reason she admitted that she had tried marijuana was because she wanted to share how there is nothing positive about smoking it.

Additionally, she also talked about how if a person wants to feel good and feel high, they should go for a good run rather than going for marijuana. She further explained how, in the seventies, smoking a joint was something that everybody wanted to try. But it was one of the worst things that she ever did. She also explained that smoking marijuana clogged her brain, and she was not able to think clearly.
