Venus Williams made her professional debut in 1994 and a year later, her sister Serena made her debut as well. Since then, their dominance on the tennis courts has been simply astonishing.
After playing more than 25 years of tennis together, Serena is the holder of 23 Grand Slam titles and Venus has won seven Grand Slam titles. They also won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles together. However, inevitably, conversations around their retirement are getting louder as Venus (41) and Serena (40) are getting older. So, what’s their plan after retirement? Venus had an interesting answer.

Venus and Serena will probably try a different sport
At the age of 41, Venus is probably closer to her retirement than Serena is. At the moment, they are both away from competitive action, recovering from injuries. In a recent interview, Venus opened up about their retirement plan after tennis.
“Serena and I say we’re going to become bodybuilders after tennis, it might be extreme. It might not happen exactly like that, but you never know,” Venus shared.
Venus also talked about exploring various things apart from tennis, as they will be free to do whatever they want to do. “From such a young age, all we’ve done is work. So, I think for Serena and I to explore that freedom is surreal. We’ve never been free,” Venus added.
Serena Williams talked about leaving a legacy
After dominating the tennis courts for so long, Serena is now focused on her family. She and her daughter, Olympia, and husband, Alexis, are spending some quality time together while Serena is away from tennis. The former World No.1 recently talked about leaving a legacy and whether it would mean anything to her or not.

“I don’t want to think about what I’m leaving. I just think about who I am every single day behind closed doors and behind cameras. And that’s what I focus on,” Serena said.
