Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian is one of the biggest advocates of paternity leaves. The 39-year-old stepped up as a father and husband and kept his family as a priority over work when his wife and newborn needed him the most. Serena went through complicated childbirth and needed care. While Ohanian was there for her, many have to miss out.

Understanding their situation, Ohanian has raised his voice for an equal opportunity for fathers to attend to their newborns. However, a few people disagree with him. One such person was the Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale. He said that the men who take family leaves are losers.

Ohanian publically criticized Lonsdale for his remarks. Recently in an interview, he spoke about the same.

For many people, myself included, it is the legacy you’re leaving behind for the little human you’ve produced,” he said.
