What injury does Serena Williams have?
On her way out of the court, Serena was accompanied by her long-standing coach, Patrick Mouratoglou. Based on her slip, she seemed to have injured her right thigh, as she went down holding her leg in pain. However, Patrick gave a further update on the seven-time Wimbledon singles champion.
He said, “Apparently the injury is at the top of her hamstring, in the glute.”

Serena’s history with injury is luckily not as decorated as her past with Grand Slams, but is, sadly, long enough. Ever since she started her professional career in 1995, injuries have lurked over her in shadows.
From 2004 to 2006, she faced major issues with her knee and also faced an ankle injury. 2006 was the most unfortunate year for the American legend, as one too many injuries reduced her on-court appearances and therefore, dropping out of the top 100 rankings.
Now, once again, injury has ruined the 39-year-old’s party, who withdrew her participation from yet another tournament.

Courtesy of the same, she missed out on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the National Bank Open 2021. Sadly, the story was no different at Cincinnati either.
