The 23-time Grand Slam champion shared her passion for investing in early-stage companies, a pursuit that she is practicing with the help of ‘Serena Ventures’. Williams expressed, “One thing that I have been doing for years and years is investments.” She explained how she started building a grip into this domain, from the time when she used to dominate the tennis courts. “It was important for me to make a plan B while I was doing my plan A,” she affirmed.

The tennis legend also disclosed details about her huge investment portfolio by boasting her investments in over 85 companies. She mentioned, “I’ve invested in over, in my personal portfolio over 85 companies maybe and also in about 14 unicorns.” Taking care of her tennis-based audience, Serena also presented a positive gesture by taking the time to explain what unicorns mean.
