A few seasons back, the Danish tennis star surprisingly moved away from the women’s circuit when she wanted to embark on a new adventure of parenthood. Now, after three years and two kids, the 33-year-old declared her intention to play competitive tennis again; a decision she conferred with her father and childhood instructor, Piotr.

Speaking about the same, the former world no.1 player has now brought to light her ‘honest’ conversation with her dad, who was quite surprised and uncertain upon hearing her decision to return to the tour at the age of 33.

After a considerable period, the WTA player is finally back on the court and has already made it look as if she had never left the game. Entering the hard court event in Toronto as a wild card participant, the Dane clinched her first victory in style. In the round of 64, the 33-year-old player, with her stellar prowess, thumped the Australian Kimberly Birrell in straight sets (6-2, 6-2).

Later, in the press conference, Wozniacki was asked about how her ‘honest ‘ conversation with her dad went after she told him about her comeback decision. In her response, the Danish tennis star revealed how her father was a bit surprised as he asked her to take the comeback decision much more “seriously”. However, the former world No. 1 player allayed his concerns by asserting that she had always taken such decisions seriously while diligently pursuing them.
