Recently a reliable tennis source tweeted on her official X (formerly Twitter) that this tennis star has repeated Li Na’s record of reaching the tournament’s top ten after ten years. They wrote- “Qinwen Zheng will become the 1st Chinese woman to reach the top 10 since her idol, Li Na, when the new rankings come out. Her run at this Australian Open has been poetic. In 2014, Li Na became the first Chinese woman to ever win a Grand Slam singles title. Exactly 10 years later, Qinwen emerges as a new history maker for Chinese tennis & will have a very good shot at becoming the 2nd Chinese woman to win a Grand Slam. Big shoes to fill. But she’s walking the right path.”

Qinwen previously commented about her icon by saying- “Yeah, she’s the first one in Asia who win French Open, the first Grand Slam. It’s like she gave me a little dream feeling the heart that while the Asia people also can do something really good in tennis. Because the first one is always special. And especially in that moment I was really young. So, yeah, she gave me the dream to put that I can do something big in tennis,”
