Hugo Armando was born on May 27, 1978, in Miami. He turned pro in 1997 and set a career-high of 100 in singles in 2001 and 85 in doubles in 2007. He is now the coach of the elder Williams sister and aims to bring her to the level of her yesteryear glory.
Who are Venus and Serena Williams’ coaches?
Venus Williams learned tennis along with her sister, Serena Williams, who is only a year younger to her. Therefore, the two have shared coaches during the initial years of their careers. Their first coach was Rick Macci, who has become the go-to coach if one wants to set themselves on a path to becoming a champion.

Prior to Macci, the two Williams sisters were trained by their parents, Richard Williams and Oracene Price. Their parents did not know much about tennis when they started out but gained knowledge of the sport by utilizing several sources.
Macci and Williams parted ways when Venus was signed on by Nike at the age of 14. After that, she received coaching from Morris King, David Witt (2007–2018) and Eric Hechtman prior to Armando.
