‘The Power of the Dog’ director Jane Campion came under fire when she made a ‘funny’ remark about tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams while accepting her award. Even though she apologized for the comment, British Journalist Piers Morgan responded to Jane’s apologetic message on Twitter by pointing out its humorous nature.

Morgan wrote, ?It was a joke. Why is she apologising? God, the humour cops are so bloody exhausting.? Jane made the Williams sisters’ fans furious on social media when she stated during her speech at the Critics Choice Awards that the tennis players don’t have to play against males like in the directorial field.
