When Serena Williams showered praise on friend Lewis Hamilton

Well, I’m a little surprised that Lewis just spoke highly of me. Lewis and I are super close. I’ve known him for years, and we just, I love that guy, he’s a really good friend of mine. The guy is such a champion, he has such a champion’s mindset”.

The 23-time major champion also considered Hamilton to be the ‘greatest driver’ and hoped for the British racer to break records.

Like, I look at what he does, training and physically and his job is, it is, it’s really no words for it to be honest so, he is, for me, the greatest driver that our generation has seen and I’m confident that he will break the record of Michael Schumacher, who was also a fabulous driver.”

Later, Serena went on to explain how Hamilton‘s attitude was inspiring and how she appreciates his straight-forward mindset.

‘He says what he says’ –  Serena on Hamilton

He lives his life on his sleeve. He’s very emotional. He says what he says. That’s just who he is. He doesn’t care who you are so, that’s one thing I’ve grown to really appreciate about him as well”, concluded the American.

Coming to tennis, Serena Williams recently pulled out of the Australian Open next year as she wasn’t completely fit. The American’s quest for the 24th major title will take place at the 2022 French Open.
