As the clay courts of Stuttgart await the thunderous footwork and strong strokes of the WTA’s best, anticipation is high in the air. While the top WTA athletes are ready to show off their skills on the sacred field, the main draw is released just ahead of the tournament leaving the tennis fans shocked.

Many popular tennis players, such as Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, are positioned to confront their previous opponents, while 20-year-old Coco Gauff “sails through” a more favorable main draw route. Let’s take a look at what tennis fans have to say about the different draw matches that will be seen this week.

As the tournament is about to start, the whole graph in which the main draw is planned was recently released on social media. As soon as it was shared, tennis fans started observing a lot of things, which apparently created chaos for a lot of different players, including Iga Swiatek and Linda Noskova in the same half, while Sabalenka will be facing Paula Badosa once again after both of them went against each other in the Miami Open.

On the other hand, another concern was that the former US Open champions might have received one of the easiest draws in the tournament. A fan commented on how the 20-year-old can easily sail through the first two rounds of the qualifiers, but the world number one-ranked tennis player will face Mertens and Elena Rybakina will play Kudermitova first.

Subsequently, another fan laughed off that the 20-year-old American playing two qualifiers might be too much.

This raised a question regarding whether Coco Gauff will ever get a tough draw this year or not.

Moreover, a fan highlighted how Badosa won’t be able to catch a break again if she faces the second-ranked tennis player in round 2 of the tournament.

But the draw has also allowed the Polish player to somewhere down the line show their dominance against Noskova, as most probably they will go on against each other in round 3 of the tournament.

Another fan explained how it’s a privilege to be the world’s number one, as you constantly get a chance to beat the same opponent again and again.

The last time both of them went against each other, it was a tough call at the Miami Open. On the other hand, both of them have already faced each other three times this year at the Australian Open, the Miami Open, and the Indian Well Masters, leaving the 19-year-old winning only the Australian Open. However, let’s take a look at what it’s like for the world number one to play against the Czech tennis player again and again.

Iga Swiatek faced Noskova in a “solid way” in the Miami Open 2024

During the Miami Open, before facing the 19-year-old, Swiatek stated what she brings to the table and how not to play against her. She stated, “Playing against her is tough, as you could see in Australia. I’m going to focus on myself and learn what I did wrong, what I did good on our last matches and just use that knowledge so I can play in a solid way, really efficiently.”

While she clearly acknowledged that playing against her is not an easy task, she talked about how it was not easy for her to achieve even in the past. It will be interesting to see whether the 19-year-old takes her Miami Open revenge or whether the Polish will maintain her dominance.

Nevertheless, what are your thoughts on the main draw? Do let us know in the comment section below.
