Will Smith Uses Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods Reference to Explain the Impact of Venus and Serena Williams’ Father

The movie based on the life of Venus and Serena Williams’ father, Richard Williams, will be hitting the theaters soon. Its second trailer is already out and fans are responding well, to say the least.

Interestingly, renowned Hollywood star, Will Smith, is playing Richard in the film. He is also one of the producers of the movie, while both Venus and Serena Williams are executive producers.

Will Smith hails Venus and Serena Williams’ father

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Will Smith opened up about Richard Williams. He highlighted that his role in shaping both Serena and Venus is so much that it can’t be expressed in an interview.

“What this family did and you know, what Richard spearheaded, is so spectacular you couldn’t possibly give him credit,” said Smith in the interview.

“It’s so big.”

In the same interview, Woods used the reference of Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan to highlight how the 79-year-old made not just one, but two of the greatest tennis players in the world.

“I was talking to someone the other day and I was like no, you guys have to imagine. Imagine that at the height of Michael Jordan, gone for six championships in Chicago. His brother, was with the team he was playing against in Los Angeles. Like that’s the size and the impossible scope.

“It’s like Tiger Woods is No.1 and his brother is No.2,” added the Hollywood star.
