Wimbledon Championships 2022: Serena Williams’ Epic Face-off With Coco Gauff on Cards, Iga Swiatek and Simona Halep to Likely Collide in Semi-finals

The women’s singles draw for this year’s Wimbledon Championships is out today, and there are already so many fantastic match-ups to look forward to. World no.1 Iga Swiatek is in the top half of the draw. Meanwhile, 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams will join her in the same half, along with Coco Gauff, Karolina Pliskova, and Paula Badosa.
The other half of the draw contains the world no.2 Anett Kontaveit and the world no.3 Ons Jabeur. Apart from them, this year’s Australian Open finalist, Danielle Collins is also in the same half of the draw.

Serena Williams could face Coco Gauff in the fourth round of the Wimbledon Championships 2022
The women’s draw is already a talking point for many fans as Serena Williams and Iga Swiatek are in the same half of the draw. This basically means they could face each other in the semi-finals. Before that, Serena could potentially face the 18-year-old American prodigy Coco Gauff in the fourth round itself.

Meanwhile, 2019 Wimbledon champion, Simona Halep is also in the same half as Serena. She could potentially face Serena in the quarter-final of the Championships. Fans are also particularly interested in this match-up as well, as Serena’s former coach Patrick Mouratoglou is with the Romanian now.
While the top half of the draw contains pretty much all the superstars, the bottom half of the draw does not have that many star powers. However, the world no.3, Ons Jabeur could be a dark horse in this competition despite some injury scares. She could face the 2022 Australian Open runner-up Danielle Collins in the quarter-final.

Meanwhile, the 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu first rose to the limelight at last year’s Wimbledon, when she reached the fourth round. She could face Collins in the fourth round and possibly face Jabeur in the quarters.
Who will win the Wimbledon ladies’ title?
In terms of current form, the world no.1 Iga Swiatek is the clear favorite for this year’s Wimbledon after she clinched the French Open title. However, if Serena stays fit throughout the tournament, she could pose a serious challenge to World No.1.

Both Serena and Iga are in the same half of the draw and could face each other in the semi-final. Moreover, the American is also eying for her 24th Grand Slam title and this could be a golden opportunity for her to clinch the title and match Margaret Court’s record.
